Sometimes the only way we realize we need to make a change is by seeing the effects of not making it. That takes time and insight.
So much of our daily life is about habits - good and bad. Every adult has to learn how to manage responsibilities, free time, and healthy habits. Even in the healthiest of people, bad habits can creep in and become a norm.
We often know something is a bad habit well before we're willing to change. Some bad habits stay for a lifetime. Quitting "cold turkey” can work, but it takes strength, support, and accountability. Many of us make New Year's resolutions, yet studies show very few stick with them long-term. Life, stress, and obligations get in the way.
